Mendip Springs Wedding Photographer
It's been a crazy old summer and unfortunately my blog seems to have suffered so let's get straight back in to it with the lovely wedding of this great couple.
You may remember Craig and Hayley from their engagement shoot in Bristol I photographed last year, they are the original high school sweethearts having been together since their school days. Fast forward to July at it was their wedding day, the service was held at St John the Baptist Church in Weston Super Mare followed by a reception at The Mendip Springs Golf Club in Congresbury and it was a great pleasure to be there to document their happy day.
I started off by joining Hayley and the bridal party at her mother's house in Weston Super Mare where the hairdresser was putting the finishing touches to Hayley's hair. It's always an interesting time when you arrive to photograph the bridal preparations as you never know what the atmosphere will be like when you arrive. I'd been expecting an air of nervousness but Hayley was as relaxed as they come, if she was nervous she certainly didn't show it.
Once the girls were ready I headed off to St John The Baptist Church in the heart of Weston Super Mare to find it was Craig that seemed to have a touch of the nerves about him although he did have his two best men on hand to look after him (apparently!)
The neighbours obviously enjoy having a prime spot as the wedding car arrives
As Hayley walks down the aisle I thought Craig was going to manage not to sneak a peek until she was at his side but he couldn't resist. The cheeky smile says it all.
Following the ceremony it was time to head off on a short drive to Mendip Springs Golf Club in Congresbury.
I have a feeling that Chris wasn't sharing details of his speech to Craig.
I always enjoy photographing the speeches at a wedding as you get to hear so many great stories including how Hayley had refused to acknowledge her step-father when he went to collect her from school one day leading to a 'stranger-danger' moment. Although he did have a few helpful pointers for Craig to keep in mind....
At this point in the best man's speech Craig was wishing Chris hadn't overheard Craig's mum telling him of his error in having 100 condoms posted to his mum's address rather than his own!! Who needs words when the pictures tell the story so well!
The guests were also treated to an impromptu performance of a Black Eyed Peas track by Craig's former 'boy-band' members but could Craig deliver the all important last-line?
As always I like to get some time with the bride and groom to capture some portraits of just the two of them without friends and family looking on. It's also a great time for the happy couple to relax and take it all in.
Congratulations to you both Mr & Mrs Mawford and I hope you enjoy every minute of married life.
